FEATURES

Reliability and Data Availability
HeritageRAID-SC systems offer the performance, reliability and data availability required for the most demanding I/O applications. Your critical data is protected by HeritageRAID-SC RAID level 1, 10, 3, 4, 5, & 50 support. Other features such as hot swappable drives, global hot spares, automatic drive failure detection, automatic background rebuild, and redundant load sharing power supplies and fans ensure that your data is available in the event of a component failure. A cableless, backplane design provides for increased reliability and hot-swappability.

HeritageRAID-SC systems can be configured with two RAID controllers in Active-Active redundancy mode.  If one controller fails, I/O functions are automatically shifted to the second controller.  The Hot Swap replacement of the failed controller ensures 24 x 7 operation.

Manageability
HeritageRAID-SC systems can be managed in-band over the host SCSI interface or via a RS-232 interface with the simple menu-driven interface embedded in firmware.  Management tools enable you to configure the RAID controllers and arrays, read event logs, and monitor hardware and software conditions.  The SAF-TE and controller management features monitor and report the status of all components.  Onboard firmware is upgradeable over the host SCSI or RS-232 interface, allowing you to take advantage of new advanced features when available. HeritageRAID-SC systems are designed to simplify maintenance and service in demanding network environments with easy to replace hot swappable components.

Scalability
HeritageRAID-SC systems are designed for simple storage expansion as your needs increase.  The Online Capacity Expansion feature enables you to reconfigure the arrays or expand your storage capacities without any storage downtime.

SCSI Configuration & Performance
HeritageRAID-SC systems feature two Ultra 160 SCSI LVD host channels and two Ultra160 drive channels.  The dedicated RAID controller(s) with up to 256 MB cache handles all RAID functions and manages up to 22 drives allowing you to reach capacities up to 3.2 TB.  HeritageRAID-SC RAID systems can deliver data at a rate of 15,000 IOPS from a single RAID controller.
