    Transparency - Transparent to applications, providing LAN-like performance for TCP applications. No changes to application protocols are required for implementation.

    TCP/UDP/ICMP Optimization - Mitigates issues that degrade application and data migration performance over the WAN. DakotaXL manages data across the WAN avoiding application data recovery situations which causes reduced data throughput. Data delivery is also supported between remote SANs by enhancing FCIP, iFCP or iSCSI transport technologies.

    Efficient Data Blocking - Utilizes a data reduction algorithm that reduces the amount of data transferred over the WAN. Data is organized into large blocks before being compressed and sent over the WAN.

    Block Level Adaptive Compression - Customers have experienced compression ratios ranging from 2:1 to 15:1.

    Scalability - A single transport supports speeds from 1Mb/s to 800 Mb/s, so no forklift upgrades or additional units are necessary when more bandwidth is required. You can seamlessly upgrade your bandwidth allowance as application demands grow via a simple performance key upgrade, providing a complete feature set all the way up to 800 Mb/s. Key upgrades are non-disruptive, in-line, real time and include the ability to add an Active-Active or Fail Safe roll over unit with very little additional effort.

    Network Integration - Installed on the LAN as a gateway or as a proxy server and traffic is directed to DakotaXL for optimization using common routing functions. DakotaXL accelerates application data over any IP-based network.

    High Availability - Active-Active and Automatic Hot Standby feature provides fault tolerant operation. User configurable controls will send broadcast capable e-mails and/or SNMP traps when a triggering event is detected.

    Encryption - Qualified with best-of-breed security encryption devices including; General Dynamics Taclane, Cisco VPN routers, CipherOptics, Blue Ridge Networks BorderGuard and others.

    VMware Virtual Appliance Option - Available as a virtual appliance on your server platform, providing the same feature set regardless of whether you are moving data between branch offices or enterprise-class data centers.

    Performance Monitor Tools - Provide a heads up display of throughput & performance statistics. The GUI, in real time, provides the ability to work with performance adjustment controls allowing you to achieve your maximum performance capability. DakotaXL is fully SNMP compliant for integration into a central monitoring console.

    Rate Limiting (QoS Features) - Provides controls for bandwidth intensive applications.

    Recovery on Demand (ROD™) - Provides for rapid recovery of critical data.

    Synchronization on Demand (SOD™) - Provides assistance for initial volume copies.

    Network Sizing Utilities - Several built-in utilities enable you to test network capacities, latency, trace routes, optimum network segment size and others.

    Bandwidth Rate Limit Controls - Enables you to limit throughput of applications by time of day. Application throughput can be changed during certain hours for bandwidth management of accelerated traffic.

DakotaXL is a WAN optimization appliance that accelerates TCP-based data replication and file transfer applications over IP WANs.

Powered by award-winning Hyper-IP software, DakotaXL provides a highly efficient data transport for critical storage replication environments, especially in cases where packet loss, congestion and/or latency exist. The flexible architecture enables you to scale from 2 to 800 Mb/s bandwidth within the same appliance.
